EdwardMilesMDNorthern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center (NICTC) is pleased to welcome Edward Miles, M.D., left, to their outstanding medical staff.

Dr. Miles is a Radiation Oncologist residency trained at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.  He received his Doctor of Medicine at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD.  He has an immense background in radiation oncology and is a Commander in the Medical Corp of the U. S. Navy.  He most recently served as Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology and Biophysics at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA.

“I am very much looking forward to bringing my talents to help individuals of the Sauk Valley area.  From what I’ve had time to explore, it is a beautiful area, and I look forward to getting to know the many communities that NICTC serves,” said Dr. Miles.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Dr. Miles to Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center.  His experience, clinical acumen, and knowledge of oncology best practices provide a set of unique qualities that will serve our patients well,” says Jon Berens, Executive Director and Medical Physicist at NICTC.

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Miles, call NICTC at 815-284-1111.  Opened in the fall of 1989, Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center has served the radiation oncology needs of individuals in the Sauk Valley for more than 30 years.  The center is located on Illinois Route 2 between Dixon, and Sterling, IL.  NICTC is a joint venture between KSB Hospital of Dixon and CGH Medical Center of Sterling.

A benefit of the center has been that patients, who are diagnosed with cancer and are prescribed radiation treatment, do not have to travel to Rockford, IL, or the Quad Cities for their treatment.  This close location has helped reduce patient stress that surfaces as a result of frequent travel.
