Loretta M. Schipper, 90, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Resthave.
Loretta was born May 4, 1926, in Morrison, to John B. and Mabel A. (Terry) Fredericks. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools. Loretta married Ora J. Schipper on October 13, 1942, in Morrison. He died October 8, 2008. Loretta was employed by Franz Manufacturing in Sterling, IL, and later by General Electric in Morrison for ten years, retiring in 1975. She also farmed with her husband in the Morrison and Erie, IL, areas. Loretta was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison and the church’s WELCA.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda McDivitt of Morrison; Susan Schipper of Newton, IA; Rona Pfister of Morrison; one son, Terry Schipper of Carson City, NV; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one half sister, Dorothy Wilkens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Henry Nelson; stepmother, Pearl Fredericks; husband, Ora; one son, John Schipper; one grandson, John Schipper, Jr.; one sister, Betty Marshall; one brother, Harold Fredericks; two stepsisters, Charlotte Linder and Alice Utech.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
OFFICIATING: Pastor Bob Burton, Pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL
VISITATION: 12:30 p.m., until the time of the service on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
