James O. Green, Sr., 69 of Sterling, IL, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
James was born on February 16, 1947, in Chicago, IL, the son of James J. and Ruth (Ziegler) Green. He is a United States Navy Veteran and served in the War in Vietnam. James married Pamela Hammer on August 18, 1967, in Rock Falls, IL.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela; one daughter, Melissa (Daniel) Williamson of St. Francis, KY; three sons, James O. (Charlene) Green, Jr. of Morrison, IL, Scott A. (Serena) Green of Orion, IL, and Christopher M. (Emily) Green of Sterling; two sisters, Cheryl (Bill) French of Sycamore, IL, and Tammy (Ken) Jackson of Chicago; two brothers, Donald (Barb) Scheck of Bellville, IL, and Ronald (Juju) Scheck of Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Scheck.
Visitation will be Friday, December 9, 2016, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral service will follow Friday, December 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at the church.
Military honors will follow after the service.
A memorial has been established in his memory.
