Julie Mask Retires from Community State Bank

Posted by

November is a month that included an additional celebration for Julie Mask of Erie, IL.  On Friday, November 18, 2016, she retired from her job as Bookkeeper at Community State Bank, 220 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL.  Mask began her career locally 12 years ago.

Prior to 2004, Mask worked as a part-time teller and part-time bookkeeper for an Erie financial establishment.  She always preferred the latter work.  When her bank dropped the employee insurance benefit, Mask began searching for a CSB bookkeeping position in Morrison.  It took eight months for one to become available.

Over her dozen years of employment, CSB customers rarely saw Mask at work; the bookkeeping department is downstairs.  There are two offices with four bookkeepers.

“I liked [working downstairs], because it was quiet,” she commented.  To be efficient in her work, a lack of distractions is important.  “I like it when things balance!”

Her post-retirement plans are being formulated.

  • First, she will spend more time at her grandson’s sporting events.
  • Second, Mask will visit her granddaughter, who attends college in Davenport, IA, or take her to lunch.
  • Third, she may travel, perhaps with Community State Bank-sponsored, Royal 50 trips.

Julie Mask is shown sixth from the left.  Some of her family members gathered for this photo (in alphabetical order):  sister Laurie, and brother-in-law Rick, Barsema; niece Jessie, and nephew-in-law Tim, Houzenga; niece Tessa, and her son, great-nephew Jalen Jones; daughters Traci Mask and Michelle Misfeldt; granddaughter Whitney Misfeldt.
