Commander Dale Usterbowski of The American Legion Post #328 in Morrison, IL, shown below left, received a $250 donation from Vice President Bob Smith of Triumph Community Bank, on Thursday, November 17, 2016. The American Legion Post #328 has spearheaded a project to add six additional stone tablets to the Veterans Memorial Park, located at Grove Hill Cemetery.
The additional tablets to the Memorial will allow for the 100-plus remaining names to be engraved. They will offer room for several years of names to be added, as Morrison area veterans die.
Commander Usterbowski wants to thank all the organizations and individuals who have donated towards this very worthwhile project. Each donation goes a long way towards the $22,500 goal. He also stated that we are still several thousand dollars from completion.
Donations can be dropped off at Morrison City Hall or mailed to P. O. Box 322, Morrison IL 61270-0322.
Project Manager Terry Jones assures everyone that 100% of all donations go directly for the stone tablet project. Administrative type costs come out of the Legion budget, not the Project Budget.
