windmillconf. 400x300 Volunteers from Fulton’s de Immigrant Windmill held an international conference on Monday, October 17, and Tuesday, October 18, 2016.  The conference, which took place at the Windmill Cultural Center in Fulton, IL, was aimed at promoting learning, discussion, and sharing with fellow mill enthusiasts.  Guests to the conference were from The Netherlands, Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois.

Participants gathered to discuss and brainstorm.  Mill enthusiasts shared ideas on how to improve mill operations and what works well at their facilities; set goals for local groups; gave presentations about their mills.  At the conference, receptions were held so members of public could meet the Dutch guests.  A Miller Program, featuring the tide mill in Woodbridge, England, concluded the event.

Fulton’s Windmill Area is in need of volunteers throughout the year.  Contact Regina Lehman at 815-589-3925 about ways to become involved
