Charges listed below are accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
On 10/29/16 at about 7:59 a.m., Deputies responded to Tampico Road and Fargo Road for a motorcycle crash. Investigation revealed Nicholas J. Smith, 29, of Tampico, IL, was driving a 2003 Buell northbound on Tampico Road, when he lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle, as it entered the east ditch.
Smith was transported to CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL, and subsequently airlifted to Rockford, IL, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center for his injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
