HappyHalloweenScheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2016, Morrison’s Halloween Parade and Costume Contest has grown to become one of the area’s must-attend Halloween events.  Presented by Morrison Chamber of Commerce and Cottonwood 4-H Club, the annual parade down Main Street is guaranteed to bring a smile to those who watch the parade.  Children of all ages dress in their most outrageous and imaginative Halloween costumes.

Line up begins at 12:30 p.m. at Community State Bank, 220 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL.   At 1:30 the parade will proceed west on Main Street to the Post Office.  Participants wishing to have their costumes judged need to be lined up before 1:15.

Cottonwood 4-H Club will provide entertainment as children wait for the parade to begin.

Because of the generous donations from local businesses, treat bags will be distributed to the first 250 children that register.  Awards sponsored by Farmers’ National Bank will be handed out to Best Group (two or more people) and Most Original Costume, Cutest Costume, and Scariest/Funniest Costume in 0-3, 4-7, and 8-12 years age groups.

In the event of rain, the event will move to the Junior High School, 300 Academic Drive, Morrison.

In addition, have your child’s or group’s photo taken in front the Halloween backdrop at the Post Office.  You will receive one free, 4×6 photo courtesy of U. S. Cellular.  Photos will be available for pickup beginning Monday, October 31, at 9:00 a.m., at the U. S. Cellular store, located at 606 E. Lincolnway.
