On Monday, August 8, 2016, Troop #1504 met at 5:30 p.m., at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, to implement their “Take Action” service project.  This is a final component of the “WOW” Wonders of Water Journey badge program.  Girls used money raised through their cookie sale to build a comprehensive, Elementary Science Kit for school staff.  Teaching aids suite a range of ages in four topics:  Recycling, States of Matter, Water Cycles, and Weather.

Included in the portable storage container are

  • posters
  • bulletin board supplies
  • matching games about recycling and states of matter
  • books, ie., carbon footprints, conservation, and recycling
  • six weather puppets.

Troop leaders are Hillary Blevins, Tracy Banks-Geiger, and Andrea Wakeman.

Morrison Troop meetings resume in September for girls in grades K-through-12.  Visit www.girlscoutsni.org to join a troop.
