August is surely a month of transitions, with its numerous endings and beginnings. Summer and vacation activities wind down, as school, sports, and dance activities begin–with the Whiteside County Fair overlapping in the middle. Jill Beswick, Coach of the Morrison High School Pom Pon Squad, has designed an event that fits perfectly into this active month. She will hold a Pons Kids Camp for girls entering kindergarten through fifth grade, from Monday, August 22, through Wednesday, August 24, 2016.
Girls will practice from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., on the Morrison High School track, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL. If weather is problematic, Beswick will move practice inside the high school.
Parents must register their daughters at the high school office; the fee is $20 and includes a t-shirt.
Youngsters will perform their pons routine at “Meet the Players Night,” Thursday, August 25. The event begins at 6:00 p.m.
The girls’ pons uniforms are t-shirts created by Traci Heusinkveld’s Morrison Specialty Shop, 123 W. Main Street, Morrison. One of her five businesses inside the shop is 123 Tee’s.
The Pons Kids Camp shirt has messages front and back: “Morrison Pom Pons Kids Camp” emblazons the front; the back proclaims “Future Pom Pon.”
Beswick and her high schooler Pons begin practice the week of Monday, August 8.
It is again time to ramp up a season of sport, dance, and team spirit. Let the cheering begin!.
