The Pink Heals Tour to Visit MCH July 29

Posted by

The Pink Heals tour is returning to Morrison Community Hospital, 303 N. Jackson Street, Morrison, IL, on Friday, July 29, 2016, around 9:00 a.m.  This is a group of pink fire trucks, police cars, and motor homes, that travel from Arizona throughout the United States, to spread cancer awareness.  By the time first responders complete their 10,000 mile journey, names of women from across the Country will have been displayed, so Americans can see how many women are affected by cancer.

The group stops at various locations.  They invite anyone who has been diagnosed with any type of cancer to come and sign a vehicle.

Mick Welding stated, “It is a very moving ‘ceremony.'”  Learn more at www.pinkfiretrucks.org.

They visited Morrison on July 7, 2014.  A trio of women were chosen by the local hospital.  Home of Hope in Dixon, IL, supplied the mini-bouquets.  In this photo, left-to-right, are Morrison’s courageous commandos:  Valerie Stern and Becky Damhoff and floral recipients Vicky Frederick, Shawn Soenksen, and Sharon Deter.

In each town, “they also send a caravan to the homes or businesses of four ladies who have been diagnosed with cancer, to deliver pink flowers,” Welding noted.  “I am asking if anyone knows a woman from Morrison who would love to have a caravan of pink vehicles–escorted by the Morrison Police Department–come to her home or business.  [She will receive] flowers and a hug from one of The Pink Heals staff.”

“Please forward those names as soon as possible (mwelding@mchstaff.com.)  Also, please come to the hospital parking lot…bring anyone who is battling cancer to sign the trucks.”
