Morrison Junior Tackle “GO B16” Football Camp will be held from Monday, July 18, through Thursday, July, 21, 2016, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Camp will be at Morrison High School football field, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL. The camp fee $20 for students in grades five through eight.
The purpose is to provide athletes the opportunity to understand the sport of Football, from all facets of the game. Athletes will learn fundamental skills necessary to be a productive team member. They will learn skills for both sides of the ball. Offensively, students will learn about ball handling, blocking, pass receiving, and passing. Defensively, students will learn proper tackling techniques, ball striping, and disengaging opponents (ripping and swimming.)
This is a good opportunity for students to meet their Jr. Tackle Coach and prepare for their upcoming season. Athletes will be supervised by the High School Coaching staff, Junior Tackle Football Coaches, and current High School players.
Thursday Night JFL 7-on-7 Games are back. Campers will have an extended amount of time for their games. For those new to the concept of 7-on-7 games, they are organized, two-hand-touch football–with no offensive or defensive linemen. We will coach athletes on basic offensive passing routes and basic defensive schemes all week. At the conclusion of camp they will play against each other. On Thursday July, 21, we invite parents and families to come watch the kids participate in our 2nd Annual JFL 7-ON-7 Game.
The 5th and 6th graders will be mixed into two teams, as will the 7th and 8th graders. The 5/6 grade teams will play each other at the south end of the football field; 7/8 grade teams will play at the north end. JFL Coaches will officiate. The High School Football Captains will coach the kids.
