John “Woody” Bramm, 67, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Lake City Medical Center, Lake City, FL, as a result of an automobile accident.
Woody was born September 22, 1948, in Morrison, to Woodrow W. and Mary Vivian (McMahon) Bramm. He was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a 1967 graduate of Morrison High School. He married Patricia Bartz on September 20, 1970. John was employed by General Electric Co. in Morrison until retiring in 2012. He also worked at Spencer’s Automotive in Morrison. In his younger years John worked for Arnie Beswick Drag Racing Team, with Arnie being a father-figure for John. John volunteered as statistician for the Morrison High School football team for 45 years. He and Larry Rice traveled to, and watched, many Morrison High School softball games together. John enjoyed traveling and was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Bramm of Phoenix, AZ; one son, Beau J. Bramm of Morrison; one step-daughter, Wendy Davis of Morrison; two grandchildren, Nathan Hutchison and Rachel Davis; one sister, Patricia Flynn of Milledgeville, IL; one brother, Gordon (Mary) Bramm of Morrison; one brother-in-law, Don (Diane) Bartz of Texas; his loving dog, Sparky.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morrison, IL, with the Rev. Father William Antillon, officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established by the family.
