Lions to Host the Mobile Vision Bus

Posted by

Plans are being made by Morrison Lions Club to host the mobile vision screening bus on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, from noon to 4:00 p.m.  The bus will be located at DQ Grill & Chill, 200 N. Sawyer Road, Morrison, IL.  The service is free and takes a few minutes to complete the test.  Photos of one’s eyes are taken and then forwarded to a lab for technicians to review.  A report is sent directly to the individual showing the results.  If problems are detected, you are advised to see an eye doctor of your choice.  Plan now to take advantage of this service.  More information will be available prior to the visit.  Many times, eye problems are found that often go undetected.

The club will also participate in Morrison’s Recycle Day on Saturday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Eyeglasses, hearing aids, cell phones, and old keys can be deposited.  The location this year is at Morrison Junior High School.  You must enter from IL Route 78 onto Academic Drive and take the first right into the Junior High parking lot.

Several members participated in the one mile stretch of U. S. Highway 30 cleanup recently.  This service project has been done by members for many years.  Shown left-to-right, front row, are Martha Kophamer, Nancy Countryman, Beth Wroble, Aaron Johnson, Jim Blakemore, and Tracy Muur; back row, Bob Countryman, Steve Wroble, Ken Jansma, and Keith Hamstra.  Denny Countryman was the photographer and also helped with the cleanup.
