Brad Quinn, left, Manager of Quinn’s Jewelry, 104 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, concluded a two-month community service campaign on Thursday, January 17, 2013. He presented 60 canned goods, eight boxes of side dishes, and $210 to Kaywn Beswick, Director of Morrison Friends Food Pantry. The 10:00 a.m. transfer was a pleasant start to the day for both.
From the beginning of November 2012 through the first week of January 2013, Quinn offered his customers a convenient way to support the pantry. He asked them to contribute either $10 or food products. In turn, he gave them a 20% discount on store merchandise, combining Christmas giving and Christmas gift shopping.
Beswick was appreciative and mentioned that monetary gifts are always welcome. “I can buy boxes of Cheerios for $0.18 a box from the Riverbend Food Pantry,” she stated.
