The Morrison Fillies traveled to Kewanee, IL, on Friday afternoon, April 29, 2016, and made quick work of the Lady Boilermakers in a 15-0 rout.
Brooke Stralow gave up only two hits to the Kewanee leadoff batter, but didn’t allow another hit in the five inning game, shortened by the ten-run rule. While Stralow contained the Kewanee offense, the Morrison Fillies’ offense was pounding out 18 hits, which included five doubles and an Emma Sitzmore home run. Eight of the nine starting Fillies reached base in the opening inning, with four collecting RBI’s (Emma Melton-2, Stralow-1, Lauren Pannier-1, and Sitzmore-2.)
The stampede continued in the third inning with four more runs scored on six hits and RB’Is by Melton, Stralow, and Jaeden Workman (2.) Doubles by Melton and Lauren Vos added two more runs in the fourth inning, before Sitzmore capped the hitting barrage with a home run in the fifth and final inning. Final score was Morrison 15, Kewanee 0.
