April 15 Sheriff’s Office Report

4-13-16 at 7:24 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies were called to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident with injuries on U. S. Route 30, just west of Riverdale Road.  When Deputies arrived on scene, it was determined a vehicle driven by Daniel W. Surdez, age 26 of Rock Falls, IL, was traveling eastbound on U. S. Route 30, when the vehicle struck Jon C. Dehaan, age 50 of Rock Falls, who was riding his bicycle eastbound on U. S. Route 30.  Dehaan was transported to CGH Medical Center by CGH EMS and was later transferred to Rockford Memorial Hospital.  The accident remains under investigation.
