Cheryl “Sue” Chappell, age 68, of Rock Falls, IL, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at her home.
Sue was born January 28, 1948 in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Dean and Mildred (Wagenknecht) Pyse. She married Stevie W. Chappell on December 12, 1979, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2006. She and Stevie owned and operated Steve’s Auto Sales and Quick Lube for eight years.
Survivors include one son, Larry “Cork” Dale of Sterling; three daughters, Becky Sue McDonald of Dixon, IL, Stephanie (Lonnie) Bresley of Sterling, and Jenny Chappell-Hemminger of Rock Falls; six sisters, Joyce (Al) Ernst of Stoutsville, MO, Joan (Janna) Pyse of Bradford, IL, Jeannie (Carl Dean) Mattingly of Loretto, KY, Deb (Randy) Aronson of Harmon, IL, Wendy (Craig) Stralow of Morrison, IL, and Donna Pyse of Harmon; two brothers, Dean “Ted” (Dot) Pyse of East Moline, IL, and David (Michelle) Pyse of Kings Mountain, NC; two sisters-in-law, Patsy (Sam) Skinner and Sharon Chappell both of Rock Falls; her fiancé, Lyle “Ike” Eichelberger of Rock Falls; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Judith Estes, Charlotte Doan, and Peggy Karash; one brother, Dennis Pyse.
Visitation will be Monday, March 28, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling, IL.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
