Editor’s note:  Camden White’s grandmother, Connie White, supplied the team with the most delicious chocolate chip cookies!

At then end of school on Thursday, May 19, 2022, members of the Boys Track and Field team received a Junior High send-off, to offer them good luck over the weekend.  Then the athletes gathered in the Morrison High School parking lot for this photograph.  After practice on the District track, everyone boarded a small bus with their coaches and traveled to Peoria, IL, for the IESA State Track Meet.  The venue is the EastSide Centre.  Some members complete on Friday, May 20, and some have events on Saturday, May 21.

The young men, left-to-right, are Koltin Swaim; Levi Milder; Kamden White; Noah Robbins; Asher Ernst; Rylan Alverado; Brady Anderson; Jordan Lewis.

Early on Friday morning, May 20, Noah Robbins had finished in 6th place, at the IESA 3A Discus competition.  Standing on the risers, he is wearing Mustang-red shorts. Medals run through eight places.

Junior High Coaches are Mark Ernst, Kerry Grim, Kelly Holland, and Dennis Weston. The latter will not attend the State competition.

There may be a welcome home truck/van parade down Main Street–staging at French Creek Park on Portland Avenue (IL Route 78)–after the group returns. Look for notice on thecity1.com Home Page and Facebook.
