This turquoise Chevrolet Corvette convertible is from 1956, and the interior is shown.
Production of the 1955 Corvette convertible was limited to 700.
The newest Corvette model was John Daugherty’s futuristic 2016 Corvette Z51 LT3, with an LS8 and 700 horsepower engine. It is one of only ten specially-built cars from the Bowling Green, KY, Assembly Plant. The plant monitors his and the other owners’ driving and reminds them when 5000-mile oil changes are needed. “All 2018 technology is inserted” when it is serviced, Daugherty said. He is originally from Texas but has resided in Fulton, IL, for the last three years. Daugherty drives “Kong” every day.
Daugherty also owns one of “less-than-five,” 2011 Special Edition Toyota Tundra, Luxury, four-passenger, trucks. Toyota decided to enter Nascar as a sponsor and promote this with race decals on the Tundras. They could not apply them to the 2011 models, so production was ended. The company produced a 2012 4×4 model with promotional decals. The photo below shows the power of the Tundra, pulling retired Space Shuttle “Endeavor” along Los Angeles, CA, freeway Route 405. The 300,000 pound shuttle was towed to the California Science Center.
The 1950 Ford was an imposing, but balanced, vehicle.
Also impressive were Lincoln Continentals like this luxury car.
This sleek, 1970 Chevrolet Nova SuperSport belongs to John Bielema of Morrison.
