4:00 Bark Park Drawings for Grill and Favorite Dog

“Thank you, Morrison Mayor Scott Vandermyde, for helping at the On the Move with the Parks and Recreation booth at the Whiteside County Fair, on Thursday, August 19, stated Karla Burn.”

During the week at the On the Move with Parks and Rec’s booth, people could vote for their favorite, costumed dog picture, by putting money into a blue bucket.  On the Move with Parks and Recreation Board members chose seven canines for the competition fundraiser.  Sums will be totaled with a winner announced, at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 21, 2021.

Visitors also registered for a raffle to win a fire pit.  A winner will be chosen today.

Fairgoers will learn who is the most-popular, costumed canine and who will take home a fire pit.  Before 4:00 today, visit the On the Move with the Parks and Recreation booth today in the Blue Building, (beside the restroom) at the Whiteside County Fair.  Vote for a pictured dog with your monetary donation, and/or purchase a grill raffle ticket/donation for $15.

These fundraisers will help purchase fencing for the future City of Morrison Bark Park.

Showcased at the booth was one of the dog houses (built by Jim Strating) that will be auctioned at the “Dog Days of Summer Pooch Picnic” event, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 18, after the Harvest Hammer.
