4-H Camp, Master Gardener Advice, Brain Exercise

Northern Illinois 4-H Camp, June 15-17, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Rock River Christian Camp, Polo, IL
University of Illinois Extension is excited to host three days of 4-H Day Camp in Northern Illinois.  These days will give campers a similar experience to past 4-H camp, without the overnight.  Camp is open to a total of 75 youth each day, who are between the ages 8 to 14, as of Wednesday, June 15, 2021.  Youth may choose to attend, one, two, or three days of 4-H Day Camp, and they do not have to be in 4-H to attend.  4-H Day Camps will run from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with check-in and check-out procedures each day.  Check availability or register at go.illinois.edu/4Hsummercamp.

Have you wondered, “What is causing my plants to die?  Will these insects destroy my vegetable garden?  What perennials are best suited for my yard?  What tree will give me the best shade?  How much fertilizer should I put on my yard?”

Four Seasons Horticulture Webinar Series, June 15, July 28, and August 17, at 1:30 p.m.
The Four Seasons Gardening Webinar Series is one of the most popular horticulture programs offered by the Illinois Extension Horticulture Team.  Registration is required at go.illinois.edu/fourseasons.  The team hosts live webinars delivered via Zoom.  Topics include:  Top Nine Vegetable Garden Insects (June 15), Themed Gardens (July 20), and End of Summer Planted Fall Vegetables (August 17.)

Wits Fitness, Monthly Workshop, June 16, monthly from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at York Township Public Library, Thomson, IL
U of I Extension Educator Karla Belzer will  lead participants through interactive activities, designed to exercise the brain to maintain and enhance cognitive function and memory.  New participants are welcome to join at any time.  Social distancing and safety guidelines will be followed.  Register at go.illinois.edu/witsfitness2.
