Everyone is invited to the 3rd Annual Flock to the Rock event, on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Activities are free, and all ages are welcome.
First, head to the Lower Dam, 300 E. 1st Street, Rock Falls, IL, between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., to view eagles soaring around the Rock River. Bring your camera and binoculars.
Then, come to the Rock Falls Community Center Building, 601 W. 10th Street, at 10:00 a.m. We will have two educational speakers.
The first will be from Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab & Education. They will do an hour presentation with the use of “live” birds of prey, as well as educational displays.
Our second speaker is Rudy Vallejo from the Kickapoo and Potawatomi Tribe. His presentation will explain how the Bald Eagle symbolizes the Native American culture. He will do an Eagle Dance, and the audience can participate.
From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be nature-related vendors. Salvation Army Sterling/Rock Falls will sell hot chocolate, coffee, water, and walking tacos.
