31st Harvest Hammer on September 15

HHman The 31st Annual Harvest Hammer event, sponsored by Morrison Rotary Club, will be held Saturday morning, September 15, 2018.  Included are a Duathlon; foot races for individuals; a non-competitive Color Run for children and adults.  The starting location is Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL. 

Proceeds benefit local youth, education, and community and international projects of the Morrison Rotary Club.

Register early online at www.getmeregistere.com/harvesthammer by Thursday, September 13, before 5:00 p.m.  All registrations after September 13 will by charged an additional $5 fee.

T-shirts will be available to the first 500 people who register.

Mead’s Bike Shop, 414 Locust Street, Sterling, IL, has donated two children’s bicycles for winners of the Wee Run and Fun Run.

The expected number of riders and runners?  “We are hoping for 500.”

What are the morning start times?  Wee Run for grades Pre-K-2 starts at 8:15.  Fun Run for grades 3-5 starts at 8:30.  Challenge Run for grades 5-8 starts after the Fun Run.  The 5k Run/Duathlon for all ages starts at 9:00.  Color Run for all ages begins around 11:30.

Costs and what is included?  The kids’ runs are $12.  The 5k Run is $25.  Individuals entered in the Duathlon pay $35. Two-person Duathlon teams pay $50.  We have a Color Run after the Harvest Hammer Duathlon, which is free for any person who registers for any of these races.  To enter only the Color Run only is $12.  The race entry fee includes a long-sleeve Harvest Hammer shirt.

Any other pertinent information for attendees?  They can pick up their packets on Friday, September 14, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Morrison High School Cafeteria.  Race Day packet pickup starts at 7:00 a.m.  We will use chip timing.
