The 31st Annual Morrison Christmas event will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018, along Downtown Main Street, Morrison, IL. It begins at 5:00 p.m., with a tree lighting ceremony introduced by Mayor Everett Pannier and Suzie Snowflake and Jack Frost turning on hundreds of lights. Eric Phend will lead the community in singing carols.
This will be followed by the much-anticipated, lighted parade led by 2018 Grand Marshall Jeg Weets. The theme is “What Elves Do When Santa Is Away.” Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by horse-drawn sleigh to conclude the parade, at the Santa House in Pocket Park, W. Main Street, next to the Chamber of Commerce office.
The community is invited to stay until 8:30 and enjoy the festive treats and entertainment at participating locations all along Main Street. Wagon rides will add to the jolly spirit as well as barrel rides. Later in the evening, stop at participating bars to place your vote for your favorite Christmas Concoction.
LeAnn’s Dance Connection is excited to be a part of this year’s Christmas Walk again, with performances at Wells Fargo Bank, 100 W. Lincolnway. While there, be sure to bid on one of the custom mason jar centerpieces as part of the Morrison Chamber of Commerce Silent Auction, which raises funds for future community events.
