The following organization, churches, and residential care facilities in Morrison, IL, invite families to attend 2023 Easter Egg Hunts. Some occur on the same day, so select which times are convenient. Bring a container for each child and a means to photograph the fun.
Listed are a half dozen April Easter Egg Hunts, scheduled by local hosts.
SATURDAY, APRIL 1
- Ebenezer Reformed Church, 309 E. Park Street, invites community children in grades Kindergarten-through 8th grade-to an Easter Egg Hunt, on Saturday, April 1. The event will be on the grass at the north side of the church, beginning at noon, and will be indoors if it rains. Candy will be awarded.
- Kiwanis Club/MHS Key Club will hold the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Kiwanis Park, in the 700 block of N. Genesee Street, on Saturday, April 1, for all area children through age nine. Face masks are encouraged. There are four age groups: 2 and under; 3 and 4; 5 and 6; 7-to-9. Morrison Fire Department will deliver Easter Bunny at 10:00 a.m. There will be a brief opportunity to capture a photo, before egg-gathering begins at 10:05. Bring a container for each child; please empty eggs to check for prize notes. Easter Bunny will present special baskets to children who have a note. Non-sugar treats can be substituted after the egg hunt. Return plastic eggs to Kiwanis containers for recycling next year.
- Pleasant View Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 500 N. Jackson Street, will hold their annual Pleasant View Easter Egg Hunt, on Saturday, April 1, for all ages of children. Preregistration begins at noon. Adults may register their boys’ and girls’ names for one bike drawing per age group. Each child will get a ticket to put into an Easter basket in front of the bicycle they hope to win. Other drawings include prizes and candy. Hunts begin at 1:00 p.m., with areas set for different ages: 0 to 3; 4 to 6; 7 and older. Bikes, baskets, and certificates also will be awarded. The Easter Bunny will be available for paid photographs ($2) during the event; they will be printed for later pick up.
- Spring Valley Reformed Church, 10960 Spring Valley Road, will host the annual Easter Egg Hunt for all area children, on Saturday, April 1. Games, prizes, and photos with the Easter Bunny begin at 2:00 p.m., and the hunts start at 2:30. Areas will be set for different ages: 0 to 4; 5 and 6; 7 and 8; 9 and 10.
FRIDAY, APRIL 7
- Homestead of Morrison, 403 Scenic Street (formerly Windsor Manor Assisted Living Community), invites children ages 0-to-10 to an Easter Egg Hunt, at 2:30 p.m., on Good Friday, April 7. Gather in front of the building to be split into three age groups; each group will have a chance to win a bicycle. Open all the eggs gathered, in search of one Golden Ticket per age group; turn it in for a special prize. Adults may register their boys’ and girls’ names for one bike drawing per age group. Easter Bunny will pose for photographs taken by family members. This event will occur rain-or-shine.
- Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, 408 Maple Avenue, hosts their annual Resthave Easter Egg Hunt outdoors, on the front lawn, on Good Friday, April 7, starting at 2:00 p.m., assisted by members of Crossroads Community Church. It will not be cancelled due to rain. Hunts will be divided by age groups: 0-to-3; 4-to-6; 7 and older. Special Guest Mr. Easter Bunny will pose for photographs, with a backdrop available. Adults may register their boys’ and girls’ names for two bike drawings, courtesy of A+ Storage (John Martin) in Morrison. Open all the eggs gathered, in search of one Golden Ticket per age group; turn it in for an extra special prize. Other prizes will be awarded along with treats.
