In January 2022, Morrison Friends Food Pantry, at Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL, will remain “open” their usual Thursday hours, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. New hours begin in February: 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Also beginning in January, clients will not enter the church. They will enter the driveway from Lincolnway, on the west side of the building, and pull forward. Outside, volunteers will take orders for one-a-month foodstuff rations. Clients should drive forward, turn right onto W. Knox Street, and await pickup from the north door. Staff will use hand sanitizer before they bring the client’s items to their vehicles.

Morrison Friends Food Pantry was begun in 1985. Resident Phyllis Fell asked Morrison Ministers Council to support her in opening a community food pantry. Churches would oversee, with Fell assisting, to help feed the less-fortunate of our community. Originally housed in a basement closet at City Hall, the pantry moved to an empty Sunday school room in Morrison United Methodist Church. It still is located upstairs in adjoining rooms 203 and 205.
