Some New Year’s resolutions are in a class by themselves: bold, unforgettable, and personally fulfilling. All interested adults are invited to share the same 2020 resolution to expand their travel horizons, by registering for the autumn Morrison Travel Club trip to Italy. Join us as we explore art, architecture, culture, food, and history–enjoying the companionship of old friends and new–while we travel with WorldStrides Tour Company.
Titled “Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, and Rome” this ten-day tour will take place Monday, September 21, through Wednesday, September 30.
Consider adding the optional six-day Extension, “Florence: Cradle of the Renaissance,” from Monday, September 30, through Monday, October 5.
The main trip is $4549 to $4895. The optional extension to Florence is $1995. Below are just a few of the highlights.
To avoid tourists in Rome, experience an early morning Vatican visit to the Sistine Chapel, with breakfast in the courtyard; take an evening Colosseum excursion. Walk deserted stone streets of Pompeii and enter buildings decimated in 79 AD by Mount Vesuvius. Participate in a cooking lesson at the foot of Mount Vesuvius; discover fine museums; photograph breathtaking scenery; enjoy free time for your own adventures and interests.
There is an optional extension to the enchanting city of Florence with its museums, architecture, and cuisine. Peer into shops of gold along the 1345 AD Ponte Veccio bridge that spans the Arno River. Created between 1501 and 1504 AD, Michelangelo’s Renaissance, marble sculpture, David, awaits you. This extension includes a daytrip west to medieval Lucca.
All costs are included except for transportation to and from O’Hare Airport; lunches; a few dinners; personal beverages with meals; tips and gratuities (for the Tour Director, tour guides, and bus drivers); any fees that might be imposed by the airlines at the airport for checked baggage; and mandatory travel insurance at $149 or an enhanced policy at $249.
There is a $50 surcharge per night for single rooms.
