2019 Prom Royalty and Court

The pre-Prom Grand March, featuring many Prom attendees, took place “Under the Big Top” on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 4:00 p.m., at Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL.  With temperatures in the low 30’s and sleet beginning just after 3:30 p.m., it was fortunate students had arrived in advance of the start time.  Before dark, wet snow was accumulating on roofs, lawns, and spring flowers!

Inside the school, artist and set designer Theresa Brandon had transformed the auditorium, bringing to life the circus theme with charming detail.

In the lobby, Amanda Cook and her troupe captured the excitement of a live circus.  She was the vision behind decorations that awaited the teens at Deer Valley Golf Club, 3298 Hoover Road, in Deer Grove, IL.  Left-to-right standing are Strongman Kaleb Knapp; Funtime Teller Ariana Cook; Knife Target Lady Monica Ferandez; Bearded Lady Robert Cook.  In front are Contortionist Leah Scott, Lion Tamer Amanda Cook, and Lion, Callie Farrell.

In the auditorium Junior High Principal Joe Robbins announced pairs, who appeared from inside the tent.  Julia Deter set an elegant processional mood on piano.

A change in procedure this year allowed students who had crossed the stage to take seats in the auditorium.  Members of the Prom Court then left, gathered in the hall near the Band Room, formed partners, and were reintroduced to the audience.

Members of the 2019 uncrowned Prom Court included, left-to-right, Junior Class Princess Shanna Hudson and Prince Keegan Anderson; Seniors Peyton Smith; Drew Walters; Emma Renkes; Alessio Romagnoli; Emily Szabo; Brevin Pruis; McKenna King; Ethan Medenblik; Sarah Screnock; Jacob Brown.
