On Saturday, September 15, 2018, a colorful group race concluded the Harvest Hammer foot and bicycle races. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. from Morrison High School, 643 Genesee Avenue, Morrison, IL, the noncompetitive Color Run invites youth and adults of all ages to travel north on Genesse to Market Street.
Most people sprint as they pass through clouds of colored powders, thrown by Morrison High School Cheerleaders. Some try to avoid being decorated. Others–mostly young boys–double back to be showered again.
“Collecting” colors to become a moving work of art is the prize they seek.
Everyone wins the Color Run.
