Walt Disney could not have designed a more perfect day for a parade. The Morrison High School Homecoming Parade launched from the 300 block of E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, at 3:00 p.m. The Walt Disney theme was based on an illogical quotation from “Toy Story” character Buzz Lightyear, “To infinity…and beyond!”
The Homecoming Queen, Payton Kennedy, and King, Austin Keller, shared a convertible, as did seven pairs of attendants:
- Seniors Adrienne Banks and Nick Bush; Rachel Davis and Zach Nardi; Isabel Vander Bleek and Anthony Tenboer; Liz Green and Mason Sitzmore
- Juniors Sydney Beveroth and Kyle McCoy
- Sophomores Lauren Vos and Cody Southern
- Freshmen MaKayla Troutman and Reilly Dolan.
Each class designed a themed float. The trophy winner was announced at the Homecoming game that evening against the Amboy, IL, Clippers. It was the Class of 2015 with Peter Pan sword fighting aboard ship. Louise Smith stated this is the fourth year in a row that the Senior Class won the recognition, and that winning streak has not happened before.
