148th Whiteside County Fair Schedule

horse cattleThe Whiteside County Fair has an amazing lineup of daily events at this year’s fair!  It is sure to please all who attend.  The Fair opens on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, and completes after five, fun-filled days on Saturday, August 18.  The 148th annual fair, held at the fairgrounds in Morrison, IL, has something for everyone. 

Here are some of the many things going on during the day.

Fire Department displays:

  • Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Morrison Community Hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS.)  An ambulance will be available to view, and handouts will be available.  There will be a display featuring the future Hospital expansion.
  • Wednesday, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Albany, Cordova, and Fulton Fire Departments.  A truck will be available to view, and handouts will be available.  There will be a display featuring a burning house; children may use hoses to extinguish the flames.
  • Thursday, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., CGH Medical Center Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with Rock Falls and Sterling Fire Departments.  Presentations will feature fire prevention, including CO2 detectors and smoke alarms, and handouts will be available.  For the third time, there will be a custom-built dollhouse that will be burned; visitors will watch how smoke and fire spread through a building.
  • Friday, 1:00 to 5:30 p.m., Morrison Fire Department.  Using the Stateline Farm Rescue simulator, Firemen will demonstrate grain bin rescues, about every 45 minutes throughout the afternoon.  Volunteers from the public will be needed.
  • Saturday, noon to 5:00 p.m., Prophetstown-Lyndon, and Tampico Fire Departments.  Firemen will extricate a “victim” from a simulated automobile crash at 1:00, 3:00, and 5:00.

Cake and Pie Walk, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 4:00 p.m.

Chicken Poo Bingo, Tuesday through Friday at 3:00 p.m.

Ride Wristband Days, Tuesday through Friday at 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Grandpa Cratchet Stage Show, throughout the day.

Bike Give-Away drawing,Tuesday through Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 and 6:00 p.m.  Sign up at the Blue Building during each day.

Wood Carving, every day, with the auction on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

Livestock Judging, Tuesday through Friday.  Check the website schedule for specific times:  www.whitesidecountyfair.org.

Bingo, every day, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

50/50 raffle tickets are available for purchase; proceeds support the Whiteside County Fair and Morrison Athletic Boosters.  Tickets are available in the Fair Office or from Fair Directors and Morrison Athletic Boosters.
