The 13th Illinois Infantry had regiments from Sterling, Morrison, and Dixon and was involved in several major battles during the war. The blurry, 1861 photo is Company B of the 13th, “The Sterling Volunteers,” training in Dixon in before heading off to the battlefield.
Wadsworth, WSDR’s morning Anchor in the 1980s, is known as a compelling speaker, both Nationally and Internationally. Now retired and living in Dixon, he holds two Master’s degrees and a PhD.
