It is obvious that extensive deconstruction is occurring at 100 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL. The owner, Jim Kozonis, is a Structural Steel Engineer from Chicago, IL.
He rents this space to business owners Christine Ruckle Fulton and Robert Fulton, to house Morrison Computer Repair LLC and Handmade with Heart. The latter enterprise sells hand crafted/hand painted “arts, crafts, quilts, woodcraft, and more.”
While repairs are being made to the building, the couple continues in business from their home. Appointments for computer service are available by calling 815-400-9134.
The Fultons vacated the premises “in Mid-August,” Christine stated. On Wednesday, October 11, Nicholas Black, Vice President of Mega Group Properties in Chicago, IL, notified her, “The architectural plans for the corrective work have been completed, and we have ordered the brick. Our general contractor will commence the corrective work on or about October 23rd, weather permitting.”
“They started earlier” than that date, Christine reported, ie., the week of October 15. “Renovations will include rebuilding the interior wall on the main floor,” she said. In the photograph, men toil on the southern portion of the building. One man at left saws the brick mortar, and two others toss clumps of green-painted bricks into the bucket.
Cement block and red bricks lie in wait at the northwest side of the 100 block of N. Genesee Street.
On Friday, October 15, the deconstruction revealed original wood framing.
Three workers installed new concrete blocks, watched by the man who moved material to them.
The masonry wall was nearing completion on Monday, October 22.
On the same day, this was the view at 6:15 p.m., quitting time. Watch as the rehabilitation continues.
