ELEANOR P. SWANSON

November 27, 1925 - June 10, 2009

ELEANOR P. SWANSON, 83, of 605 Diamond Court in Morrison, IL died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at her home.

Eleanor was born on November 27, 1925 in Lyndon, IL to Marion and Grace (Port) Zuidema. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She married Jack M. Swanson on December 23, 1944 in Sterling, IL. Eleanor was employed by the ICA in Morrison, IL and Pittengers Clothing store also in Morrison. Most recently she was employed by General Electric in Morrison, IL. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison and was also a member of the Morrison VFW Post #8281 Auxiliary and GEM Club. She served as a Girl Scout leader and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years. Eleanor enjoyed cruise ship vacations with her family and Tuesday morning coffee with neighbors.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; one daughter, Peggy Mills; and two granddaughters, Sara (Bryan) Mounce and Abby Mills.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bruce Mills; one sister, Jeannette Bos; and three brothers, Harold, Elmer and Orville Zuidema.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 AM Friday – June 12, 2009 at the Bethesda Lutheran Church – Morrison, IL

OFFICIATING: Pastor Bob Burton – Bethesda Lutheran Church – Morrison, IL

THERE WILL BE NO VISITATION: Morrison Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

CREMATION RITES HAVE BEEN ACCORDED

INTERMENT OF CREMAINS: Grove Hill Cemetery – Morrison, IL
