November 08, 1924 - February 20, 2009 DOROTHY G. LINDBERG, 84, of 512 Locust Street, Prophetstown, IL died Friday, February 20, 2009 at her son's home in Danville, CA. Dorothy was born on November 8, 1924 in Albany, IL to John M. and Florence C. (Dean) Brady. She attended several area country schools and graduated from Tampico High School. She married Floyd W. Lindberg on July 15, 1948 in Prophetstown, IL. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1995. Dorothy worked in a munitions plant during WWII. She waitressed at various restaurants in the Prophetstown area and ran the clubhouse at Prophet Hills Country Club for many years. She was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church where she served the Lord in a variety of capacities for many years. Dorothy loved and was skilled in many crafts, including furniture refinishing, chair caning, needlepoint, knitting, and in particular crocheting. She made numerous beautiful afghans which will be heirlooms for family members. Survivors include one son, Alan (Cheryl) Lindberg of Danville, CA; one step-daughter, JoAnn (Virtus) Rohm of Davenport, IA; four grandchildren, Pastor Jim (Sherry) Jensen, Penni Rohm, Rebecca Lindberg, David (Dasha) Lindberg; four great grandchildren, Todd (Connie) Jensen, Jaime (Sunshine) Jensen, Kimberly (Tim) Cook, Kerry (Ryan) Cox; eight great great grandchildren, Jonathan Jensen, Zakary Jensen, Deacon Jensen, Jesse Cook, Maxwell Jensen, Annelise Cook, Abigail Jensen, Eden Jensen; and one sister, Beverly Love of Surprise, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; one step-son, Charles Lindberg; one sister, Shirley Brady as a child; and three brothers, Robert (in infancy), James and Donald Brady. Funeral Information FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church – Prophetstown, IL CO-OFFICIATING: Rev. Insun Yoon – Pastor of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and Rev. Jim Jensen- Pastor of the Advent Christian Church VISITATION: 9:30 AM until the time of the service Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church.
