DOROTHY I. NEWLON, 90, of Wichita, KS, formerly of Prophetstown, IL died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center in the St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS.

Dorothy was born on October 10, 1918 in Prophetstown, IL to Ernest L. and Hannah C. (Meier) Brown. She was educated in the Prophetstown grade schools and graduated from Prophetstown High School. She married Harley L. Newlon on August 28, 1937 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1987. Dorothy was a homemaker. A memorial has been established.

Survivors include one son, Jackie L. (Nancy) Newlon of Wichita, KS; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Specht of Princeton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley and one sister, Helen Sim.

VISITATION: 2:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home – 320 Lafayette Street, Prophetstown, IL

INTERMENT: Riverside Cemetery – Prophetstown, IL at a later date
