Northside Elementary School to Host Book Fair Event

Northside Elementary School in Morrison will host a “Book Fair Safari” Scholastic Book Fair the week of September 22nd – September 26th.

The school will host family shopping nights on Tuesday, September 23rd and Thursday, September 25th from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m. Families, teachers, and community members are invited to participate in these evenings of books and family fun.

As a special family literacy feature, Northside School will sponsor a “Build A Book” event on Thursday, September 25th, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Families will receive instruction and materials to construct and pen their own family book to add to their literary collections. Families are encouraged to bring their final products to the Family Reading Night in November 2008, where local author Wally Kilgus will be on hand to share his books and listen to families share their masterpieces.

The Book Fair will offer specialty priced books and educational products, including new releases, award-winning titles, children’s classics, interactive software, adult books, and current best-sellers from more than 100 publishers.

Book Fair customers may help the school build classroom libraries and improve children’s reading skills by purchasing books through the “Classroom Wish List” and “One for Books” programs.
