Third graders look at their dictionaries

Third grade students at Southside School received Webster’s Dictionaries for Students from the Morrison Rotary members. Each dictionary was personalized with the student’s name.

Activities are planned for the students to assist them in learning to use the dictionaries. A dictionary scavenger hunt is one of the fun filled events scheduled. And on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s the children will be given a word in which they will be asked to attain the meaning of by using their dictionary.

Drew Hoffman, a representative of the Morrison Rotary explained to the third graders that Rotary is an organization that helps the community in many ways. One of their goals is to help children. Presenting them each with a dictionary was one of the contributions they wanted to offer.
