Several children from Morrison community Daycare participated in this year’s “Let’s Read” party on June 2nd at Happy Joes. Sixteen children completed the program and 10 of those children attended the party.

For every ten books read, a token for a free Dairy Queen treat is given. For every 30 books read, the child received a book. To qualify for the party, each child must have 90 plus books read to them over the course of nine months. They also must turn in their reading sheets every month. At the party, each child is presented a certificate for their accomplishment, a treat bag, and a book of their choice.

The daycare has offered a reading program for twelve years and this is the second year the daycare has thrown a party for those who qualified. This program is currently organized by Chris Pilgrim, an employee at Morrison Community Daycare.

This program is sponsored by Happy Joes, Dairy Queen, and Wells Fargo. The daycare will continue to encourage their students’ love of reading by offering a summer reading program. Morrison Community Daycare is a United Way Agency.
