Due to unpredictable weather conditions Morrison High School held graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2008 on Sunday, May 25 in the high school gymnasium. Eighty-nine students received diplomas at the 2 p.m. service.

The Morrison High School Band performed the prelude “Sine Nomine” followed by the “Pomp and Circumstance”, under the direction of David Bean.

Principal Janet Ward welcomed everyone and reflected on the many accomplishments of this class through sports and academics.

Senior class speaker, Michael Benson presented his speech entitled, “Take A Page From #4: Never Give Up”. “Change” was Taylor Boyles speech, followed by Brianne Janssen who’s speech was entitled, “What Touches Your Life”.

Special music was presented by the High School Robed Choir under the direction of Darlene Palmer entitled, “In Our Children’s Eyes”. The band followed with a selection titled, “Lux Aeterna”.

The speeches continued with Nathan Vandermyde’s entitled, “Gone in a Flash”; Meghan Houzenga, “Merry Graduation”; Jessica Scott, “You’re Gonna Miss This”; and Michael Stralow, “What Truly Matters”.

Meghan Houzenga was named Salutatorian and Michael Stralow and Jessica Scott were named Valedictorians.

The Morrison Education Foundation Award, presented by Superintendent Dr. Jody Ware was given to all three above named.
