Morrison Music Students to Participate in Festival

Morrison Junior High music students will participate in the Tri-County Music Festival, which will be held at Riverdale Middle School, Port Byron on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Students are selected to participate in a concert band or choir, which will be lead, by experienced guest conductors through afternoon rehearsals and an evening performance that is open to the public.

In addition to Morrison Junior High, other participating schools are Erie Middle School, River Bend Middle School, Riverdale Middle School, Rock Falls Junior High and Tampico Middle School.

Participating in the band from Morrison will be Heather Elfline, Savannah Horn, Cassie Meurs and Alyssa Patten, flute; Hannah Blacklock, Hallah Dalati, Emily Davis, Morgan DeVorah, Victoria Horn, and Chasitee Forster, clarinet; Kirsti McNeece and Alex Weets,alto saxophone;; Josh Screnock, trumpet; Greg Magana, Chris Scott and Alyssa Workman, French horn; Colin Goodman, Dalton Gray, and Ben Hamilotn trombone; and Meghan Houzenga, Michael Vegter and Katie Fricker, percussion. The band will be conducted by Mrs. Marilyn Fee, Clinton Washington Middle School 8th Grade band director.

Participating in the choir from Morrison will be Amy Nienhuis, Brittany Slater, Erin Roggy, Michaela Rinker, Mattie VanderBleek, Sheri Boles, Becca Stone, Brittany Criss , Kaylah Greul, Kira Riggen, Maddison Tucker, Sarah Mapes, Justin Morris, Nate Osborn and Seth Buckwalter. Mr. Michael Zemek, Augustana College, will conduct the choir

The evening concert will be held in the Riverdale Middle School gym at 7:00 p.m. and there is a $3 for Adults/$2 for students admission charge (Maximum for each family $8).
