The Morrison High School Pons have been competing in two State Dance Series this year, Illinois Drill Team Association and Team Dance Illinois. By participating in the different series, it will allow the Pons to meet different competition or teams.

The girls attended the Geneva H. S. TDI Regional on Feb. 10 and received another qualifying score to the Team Dance Illinois State competition, March 2, in Peoria. The squad also received "Highest Artistic Score" honors out of all the performances at the Geneva Regional.

The MHS Pons attended another Illinois Drill Dance Team Regional competition at Hononegah H.S. in Rockton, Ill. on February 16 and qualified again for the Sectional competition, March 8 at Plainfield Central H.S. Meghan Houzenga was selected as one of the "Rising Stars" at the Hononegah Regional.

Attending multiple Regional contests allows teams to be seen and judged (scored) by different judges and coaches can then make changes and improvements in the performance and choreography. Although the changes are small, our routine continues to be a work in progress.
