Tim Hood Advances to State Wrestling Competition

Tim Hood, Morrison High School wrestler advanced to State Competition following his second place win on Saturday, February 9 at the Byron Sectionals.

Tim is 33-4 for this season and is currently ranked second in the State Class A at 112 pounds. He may be small in size but has shown a large total in wins. His career win total is 125. This puts him three wins shy of tying and four shy of breaking the all time win total for the Morrison High School’s history records.

According to Coach Gregg Dolan, “He has a tough draw at state. He could wrestle the #3, #4 and #5 ranked kids in the state to get to the finals.”

Tim will probably also have to beat the #1 ranked wrestler in the finals.

“He has to wrestle great at state to medal,” stated Dolan. “But he has the ability to get the job done and become the second State Champ in Morrison wrestling history. I am looking forward to seeing him step up to the challenge.”

The State Competition begins this Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16. Hood will face Nathan Santhanam from St. Thomas in the Preliminary Round. Santhanam has a season record of 30-9.
