Morrison United Methodist Messages

The Morrison United Methodist Church “opens its doors, hearts, and minds” to all who wish to participate in our church family as we follow Jesus in worship, prayer, and service. Featured this week are the Adult Sunday School classes, which welcome all to their study, discussion, and fellowship. Both classes meet for an hour beginning at 9:00 A.M.

The Adult Bible Study Class meets each Sunday in the church lounge. The class is based on David C. Cook’s Bible and Life Studies, and is a small discussion group. The first quarter lessons present Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians. Each study is based on Scripture and how it relates to life. Subsequent quarters will use the Book of Revelation and the life lesson of working with and for Christ.

Over coffee, the ‘Pastor’s Bible Study’ discusses the “hot topics” of recent national and world events from the perspective of selected Biblical passages. By relating the Scripture to the current News, topics are not only explored in-depth but also members can apply the Bible passages to their own lives during the ensuing weeks. This class meets in Fellowship Hall. Topics are chosen and a hard copy is available at the church office on Thursday afternoon or by email for the Sunday class. This is a lively and timely class with stimulating discussion and insight. Last week’s topic was the news article concerning Mother Teresa and the crisis of faith she encountered most of her life which has recently been revealed in a new book, Come By My Light.
