Emmanuel Reformed Church to Celebrate 60th Anniversary |
|
The Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison will celebrate their 60th anniversary this Sunday, August 19 with a special day planned. All are invited to attend any of the day’s activities. At the 9:00 a.m. worship service, the prelude will be “Resplendent Praise!”, offered by Karen Mouw, organist and Ministry Coordinator Rich Criss, pianist. Rev. Al Pruis, son of the church, will deliver the morning’s sermon. Rev. Jeff McIlrath, senior pastor of Emmanuel, will preside over the service. The Sanctuary Choir will sing “I Stand Upon the Rock” while the praise band “Exaltation” will lead the congregation in the praise set, singing “Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble?”, “Breathe” and “Only a God Like You.” The offertory will be another piano-organ duet entitled “Happiness Medley.” The hymns “How Great Thou Art,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “Because He Lives” will be sung. Karen Mouw will provide the organ postlude. Immediately following worship, the congregation will proceed to the Christ Center where the church’s new addition will be dedicated to the glory of God. A picture collage will be shown during that time of photos of the building process of the Christ Center. Refreshments will follow this dedication. All are invited to return for an old-fashioned potluck dinner at 5:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Christ Center. Table service, lemonade and coffee will be provided and all attending are asked to bring 1-2 dishes to pass. Please call the church office to sign up so ample seating will be available. At 6:30 p.m. the day will conclude will a praise and worship concert in the sanctuary where all four of Emmanuel’s praise teams will offer praise sets, interspersed with the singing of familiar hymns. No offering will be taken at this concert and all are welcome to come and participate in this evening of musical praise. Emmanuel’s facilities are fully accessible to all and air-conditioned.
