First Presbyterian Church to Host Lenten Programs

The First Presbyterian Church of Morrison will be hosting a series of programs focusing on the environment: “What’s going on and what can we do to make a positive difference?” The programs will be held for five weeks during the Lenten Season on Wednesdays. The events will be starting at 6:30 p.m. with dessert.

The first and second week, Feb. 28 and March 7 will be on the Oscar nominated film, "An Inconvenient Truth, Part 1 and Part 11. A discussion time will follow.

On Wednesday March 14: "A Closer Look at Global Warning" presented by Dr. Brad Sagemen, a professor at Northwestern and a leading geologist.

Wednesday, March 21 will feature Kara Mitvalsky, the sister of Rev. Mike Selburg. Her topic will be "Wetland Restoration". She worked for the Corps of Engineers out of Rock Island.

March 28 - TBA.

The Congregation of First Presbyterian hopes that you will be able to join them for any or all of the above programs. Depending on the speaker, these Lenten series events should end between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m.
