Extending Daylight Hours Not a Viable Option

The results of the University of Illinois Extension on-line survey have been tabulated. Learning how to eat healthy “on the run” was listed as the number one concern for those desiring to be fit and healthy. Having a plan for healthy eating, such as nutritious menus, recipes, shopping lists, and a plan for eating out, was listed as the number one needed tool. Additionally, in order to start an exercise program, respondents noted that they must be able to exercise near work or home, and the program must fit into their schedules.

The results clearly seem to indicate that we need to extend the number of hours in a day in order to have enough time to be fit, healthy, and avoid all the preventable diseases brought upon ourselves by our hectic lifestyles!

The Whiteside County Health & Fitness Initiative pondered that option, but concluding the earth’s rotation to be beyond control, opted to meet the challenge in another way. Therefore, you are invited to join the 8-week FIT FOR LIFE program, scheduled for Monday evenings February 26 – April 16, 2007. You will have fun and learn how to meet the challenges of a hectic lifestyle while choosing not to pay for it with your health and youth!
