F-S Fillies Down Sterling |
On May 9 the Fresh-Soph Fillies traveled to Sterling to battle the Warriors. The Fillies batted first and wasted no time scoring. Kyla Renkes bunted on and stole to third and was pushed in by Kate Tenboer. Kate Tenboer took the mound for the Fillies and held Sterling scoreless. The fillies would score again in the top of the third when Jordan Mann singled on and Heather Andersen doubled her in.
In the fourth inning the Fillies put on their hitting shoes and opened up the game. Callie Bush singled, Alene Vandermyde beat an infield single, and Renkes singled in Bush. Megan Nelson singled to load the bases for Tenboer who doubled in Vandermyde and Renkes. Mann singled in Nelson and Andersen singled in Tenboer. The score now stood at 7-0. Tenboer continued to pitch a great game and held Sterling scoreless. The fillies would add one more in the sixth Tenboer singled and stole second Mann Singled to push Tenboer over and Trisha Beswick bunted to push Tenboer in. This made the score 8-0 which was the final. Tenboer pitched a great game adding 17k’s to her total. The Fillies next game is May 10 versus Bureau Valley. Submitted By Paul Vandermyde by dzuidema |
