Alene Vandermyde readies to hit. 

F-S Fillies Trample the Rams

On April 28 the F-S Fillies traveled to Riverdale to challenge the Rams. The Fillies batted first and wasted no time taking the lead. Kyla Renkes bunted on and stole second, Andersen was hit by pitch, Jordan Mann singled in Renkes, Kate Durham knocked in Mann and Andersen. Mann took the mound for the Fillies and sent them back to the bench in order. Making the score 3-0.

The Fillies continued their scoring ways in the second inning. Alene Vandermyde was walked and stole second. Renkes singled, Megan Nelson walked to load the bases for Andersen who knocked in Vandermyde and Renkes. Mann stepped to the plate and doubled in Nelson and Andersen. Callie Bush singled and Durham knocked in Mann. The Fillies allowed a run in the bottom of the second and did not score in the third or allow any in the third. This left the score 8-1.

The Fillies exploded in the fourth inning, starting with Durham singling and stealing second and third. Beka Head was hit by a pitch. Andrea Vegter singled in Durham. And Vandermyde singled in Head and Vegter. Andersen took another one for the team and stole second, Mann walked, Bush singled in Vandermyde and Andersen. Durham walked, Head walked, Vegter walked, Vandermyde Walked pushing in Durham, Renkes singled in Head and Vegter. Mann sent the Ram batters back to the bench in order with the score now 17-1.

The top of the fifth brought a lot of changes for the Fillies and more runs. Andersen singled, Mann walked, Bush singled, Head walked in Andersen, and Abby Wiesel tripled in Bush and Head. Mann and the Filly defense sent the Rams back to their bench in order ending the game 20-1. The Filly defense played a strong game and Mann notched 6 Strikeouts in the five-inning game facing only 18 batters. The F-S Fillies are now 15-2 on the year.
